Launceston: "Hands and Hearts in Harmony for UN. World Peace Day"

Launceston Interfaith Spiritual Community Presents

"Hands and Hearts in Harmony for United Nations World Peace Day."

When: Monday Sept 21 - 1.00 pm
Where: Ida Birchall Room, 36-38 Paterson St (opposite Birchalls carpark)

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace... - United Nations.

Peace prayers, readings, meditation, discussion and sacred music will guide our time together. Attendees are also invited to make a Peace Pledge which we will honor with a simple yet powerful peace ritual. Your pledge, promise or commitment might be dedicating a day to peaceful practices, planting a peace tree, doing spontaneous random acts of kindness, sitting in silent meditation and prayer dedicated to the alleviation of suffering, world peace and harmony.   All welcome.  Strictly no proselytizing.
